MAKE MONEY FROM YOUR DJI PHANTOM DRONE PHOTOGRAPHS & VIDEO

"So once you have shot all these amazing aerial photographs and video footage with your drone, what now? How can you make some money from them?!"

- David

It's all very well to shoot so many amazing photos or stock video footage with your DJI Phantom, DJI Inspire or any quadcopter / drone, but what do you do with them once you've done it? Unlike stock photographs in general, there are still some holes left in the market for good aerial shots, especially ones that don't look like mapping shots and in the regional areas.

Which stock photo web sites and stock libraries pay the most money? Many regions in the world are not all that well covered at a stock aerial photograph or video footage level, but you do need to shop around and see who accepts DJI Phantom & GoPro quality images as many stock libraries will not accept Phantom 2 Vision quality images + what they pay (And is there any demand?) . So jump on it now and sell your work before the whole world owns a drone! The Inspire and Phantom 3 offer a new way forward with selling stock photos to photo libraries with the higher quality images, so the acceptance ratios are much higher.

We have been selling stock photographs for years via our production dept (Hypervsion), through a number of stock photo web sites and it has been a steady income. Might not set the world on fire, but a good source of extra revenue, none the less.

So which stock library to use for contributors and how hard is it?

For the latest information on what stock libraries are paying what and whos the best,

please see our complete report on selling stock photos and photography websites

For photos I would use the three following (Not in any order)

Dreamstime Great site, fast, easy to use and pretty popular (earnings are pretty good) Shutterstock

- These guys are without doubt the best at selling stock photos and video on your behalf Best earnings and simple to upload, however they can be tough with their upload criteria

123 RF - These guys are pretty good & accept Phantom quality images although dont pay quite as high and sales aren't as good (But also newer players) Selling stock Video is a different beast & heres the only few I would bother with Shutterstock

By far!! The best seller of stock video footage Fairly simple to upload & reasonable content criteria (Phantom 2 vision is ok if it's not moving too fast!) Like GoPro vision .. they break up with fast movement 123 RF - These guys are pretty good & accept Phantom quality video although dont pay quite as high

are paying the best, please see our complete report on how to sell stock photos
