How to get the DJI Phantom home with fail safe mode when you've lost sight of it and there's tall trees, obstacles or buildings everywhere! Avoid crashing!
When the Phantom goes into "fail Safe" and comes home at 60 feet, what happens if there's a tree or building in the way?
In my mind, this is a fantastic feature and one we use all the time for various reasons!
So if that scary moment comes and you've lost sight of your phantom and its time to enter fail safe mode or you think she's about to go there all on her own!
How do you make sure the Phantom is high enough and clear!?
Watch this video to see how you can hit the phantom up lever are pump in a heap more height before you switch over to fail safe, at least that way you know she's flying high and clear of any pretty much any obstacles even if you cant see it anymore.
A great trick for is you are in a forest or the like.
Another thing to bear in mind with the height settings, is that when you fire up the phantom and she sets her HOME position, it also records altitude, so if you set your HOME position on a high rise building or a mountain she'll fly home 60 feet above that point all the way .....
If you set it in a valley and switch to fail safe, she'll stay at whatever height your flying at no matter how low or high until she reaches the home target!
