LILY CAMERA DRONE NO MORE!
In Case you haven't caught up with the latest...
Remember the Lily Drone that automatically follows you anywhere?
After generating almost $50 million in funding and pre-sales, Lily is shutting down in wake of litigation that concluded their too-good-to-be-true demo video was not even shot on the Lily.
The District Attorney also alleged that other parts of the advertisement that consumers were led to be believe were shot by Lily, were instead taken by a DJI Inspire. Lily spokesperson Kelly Coyne only said that that it had taken many shoots to create the clips for the advertisement, and that the drone had been improved with different parts that would not be in the market device when it shipped. She failed to mention the use of GoPros or the Inspire.
Doesn't seem like they are answering their facebook posts now :(

Lily Camera Sends Email To Buyers –
Closing Up Shop Refund in 60 Days
Last night an email was released to supporters of the Lily Drone:
Antoine and Henry here from the Lily team. When Lily set out on the journey to create a flying camera over three years ago, we were determined to develop and deliver a product that would exceed your expectations.
In the past year, the Lily family has had many ups and downs. We have been delighted by the steady advancements in the quality of our product and have received great feedback from our Beta program. At the same time, we have been racing against a clock of ever-diminishing funds. Over the past few months, we have tried to secure financing in order to unlock our manufacturing line and ship our first units – but have been unable to do this. As a result, we are deeply saddened to say that we are planning to wind down the company and offer refunds to customers (details below).
We want to thank you for sticking with us and believing in us during this time. Our community was the drive that kept us going even as circumstances became more and more difficult. Your encouraging words through our forums and in your emails gave us hope and the energy we needed to keep fighting.
Before we sign off, we want to thank all the people who have worked at Lily, who have partnered with us, and who have invested in us. Thank you for giving your all, nights, weekends and holidays, in the effort to deliver a great product.
After so much hard work, we are sad to see this adventure come to an end. We are very sorry and disappointed that we will not be able to deliver your flying camera, and are incredibly grateful for your support as a pre-order customer. Thank you for believing in our vision and giving us the opportunity to get this far. We hope our contribution will help pave the way for the exciting future of our industry.
Refund Details:
Lily will be offering a refund to customers over the next 60 days. We will be initiating refunds to the payment card used for the original transaction (no action is required on your part; please allow 14 days for the refund to appear on your statement).
If the card you used is expired, please fill out form so we can work with you on providing a refund by other means (e.g., PayPal or check).

FROM 2016
I reckon we called it pretty well a year ago (Below)
I guess by now, many of us have heard of the Lily Camera Drone.
The new generation waterproof drone, quadcopter, camera with the "follow me" function.
Where to buy a lily drone?
Lilly suggest it is completely bullet proof and can even take off from the water!
Not sure how your pictures will look when shooting from a wet lens, but still....
Here's something to think about though ....
You can only buy pre-order for next February!
It was $999 and now it's $699, so doesn't sound like it's getting the support it needs at this stage. Are we funding it? Will it get made?
I have contacted Lily twice with NO REPLY. Is this good for a sight unseen?
I'm sure it get made but, given how fast technology is moving, what happens in 6 months?
Will it be that revolutionary? Go Pro have announced their launch into the quadcopter arena which will shake things up and DJI Phantom already have a "follow me" app which does the same thing?

So my question is .... what's new? IS it even real?

It's waterproof yes, but if you want to fly in water, maybe consider a submarine or boat!

We will update this segment as we find out more!
