Can a DJI Phantom fly upside down or inverted?

How to avoid crashing when it hits a tree, building or (god forbid) power line!

If the Phantom gets flipped over, will it correct it self?

Today we take a brief look at the levelling and positioning technology behind the DJI Phantom II. The one thing most of us DON'T want to do is crash our Phantoms!

When a Phantom leans over (for whatever reason) it will do EVERYTHING in its power to get back to level. And this process happens automatically and very responsively.

The technology is incredible. As I understand it, the Phantom is fitted with an IMU

which stands for (Inertial Measurement Unit) Which looks after the flying with a 3 axis accelerometer, 3 axis angular velocity and a barometric altimeter.

Even if you turn the unit completely on its head..... the result is the same!

At this point, I would caution that our tests are never without casualties and certain procedures have been formulated to avoid danger and crashes.
