CAN YOU RESET THE HOME POSITION IN FLIGHT? - Member Question
"Say you cruise (on water) with your DJI Phantom for a few miles and realize there is no way it would be able to go back to the original home point in failsafe." Can't you reset the home point when in flight by toggling between CL and HL to at least give you a chance of getting it down safely in the case of losing contact with it or failsafe?
Yes you can set a new "in flight" home position as per DJI instructions. But if you have control of it, why not just land it? Our whole boating scenario is based on NOT having control..
Flat batteries, lost controller, malfunction etc, and these events normally come without warning.
So yes, you could keep resetting a new home position as you go if you wanted to.
But without a GPS and pre-selected home position, it only takes a few minutes on water to have no idea where you are. 90% of the time you'll be fine! Hope that helps!
